Hold Paddle to build glide. Tap once to push up, then again to stand. Use the arrows to steer or cross-step. Tap Crouch, Rail or Stall on and off; combine them to cover up.

Camera distance

Drag the water to look around. Landscape gives the wave more room.

Bump Rock · same coast

Choose the Bump Rock session in Session, or paddle out past the rocky point and switch boards there. Hold Space to paddle; release when ready to take off. Left/right engage the rails. Down shifts pressure forward for drive; Up weights the tail for tighter turns. Hold C to compress; release to extend and drive on the face. G holds the rail, S stalls, and Return exits the ride. The larger left reforms after Adobe Reef. Stay low beneath the roof, release Crouch briefly to extend and drive, and turn toward the open shoulder. A late drop into the collapsing lip puts you back prone. Continue around the point to explore Shelter Cove and Pedro Rock by diving.

FIND YOUR LINE

Take it slow. Stay in trim.

Use both thumbs: steer on the left, Paddle on the right. Tap Paddle once to push up, then tap Pop up to stand. You can also release a held Paddle when “Release Paddle to stand” appears. While riding, hold Tail or Nose to cross-step. Tap Crouch, Rail and Stall on or off to combine them, then tap Pull off when you want to leave the wave.

Hold Space to paddle into the face. Tap once to plant your hands and push up; tap again to pop up. You can also release a held paddle when “Ready to take off” appears. Or choose Catch this wave for an assisted start.

← / →
North / south. Briefly press and release ← to compress and extend into a glide. Your first ← press holds the line while pumping. Release, then hold ← again for a frontside bottom-turn and rebound; hold → to carve toward the pocket. Step back for a tighter turn.
↑ / ↓
Reverse cross-step toward the tail / walk to the nose. Each planted step shifts your weight. Hold ↓ for hang ten only while the tail is supported.
Space
Hold to paddle. First short tap: push up. Second tap: pop up on the face. Releasing a held paddle still takes off when ready.
Return / Enter
Deliberately pull out over the shoulder and return prone for the next set. A fading wave glides out along your current line; it does not turn you out the back.
C / G / S
Crouch with the rear knee dropped / grab rail / stall. Combine crouch and a tail-weighted cutback for a drop-knee arc. Stall toward the lip, or crouch before a short → cutback to follow the upper face into the pocket. Release Stall and press/release ← to pump back out onto the face. Too deep in the pit, or hit by the collapsing lip, puts you prone on the board.
Shift
Tap to hide all menus for pure surfing; tap again to bring them back. The Linda Mar branding stays visible.
1–4
Change camera, including while menus are hidden.
Esc / R
Pause / restart session

The wave peels north toward the Creek, through two bowls, with a new swell every 24 seconds. Find trim, walk forward while the pocket holds the tail, then walk back before turning. A nose perch on a weak shoulder can pearl.

Your ride is judged out of 10: flow 25%, critical positioning 20%, footwork 15%, trim and noseriding 15%, rail work 15%, and commitment 10%. Pumps are setup actions, not points. The best examples and clean connections matter; repetition does not multiply the score. Open the ride breakdown to review each category.

These weights are a custom game design, not official competition rules. The current physics are assisted real-time approximations.

BENEATH THE SWELL · PHASE TWENTY-SEVEN

Follow the reef. Look beneath the ledges.

Choose Freediver in Session. Start on the waterfront boulder, dive headfirst, and use alternating fin kicks through the shared coastal world.

Space
Dive from the rock. Hold to fin-kick; release to glide. Arms stay quiet for handling the gun and rock holds. Aboard the tender, Space enters the water.
↑ / ↓
Rise to breathe / duck dive and swim deeper.
← / →
Steer left / right.
Enter
With spearfishing on: hold Return to load in first person. Focus on a fish, wait for the jewel to glow green and show “Locked,” then release to hit it. The spear reloads after every shot. With it off: climb the boulder or rise toward the surface.
F
At the tender’s right-hand ladder, F climbs aboard. Aboard, F places the catch in the hold. Elsewhere, F climbs the boulder or rises toward the surface.
L / G
Toggle the wrist light / hold nearby reachable rock to steady yourself. Release G or swim up/down to let go. Look into open ledges from outside; nest guards are observation-only.
Drag / scroll
Look around, above and below / adjust follow distance.
Back / Front / Mask
Follow behind or watch from in front. Aiming temporarily switches to eye view. Your chosen follow view returns for retrieval and reloading. Mask is also available during exploration.

Each full breath gives two minutes underwater. A warning appears with 30 seconds left. Your mouth must break through the wave surface to breathe. Running out of air ends the dive: the avatar floats belly up, then restarts on the boulder.

Find eelgrass in sheltered sand pockets, surfgrass on rock, kelp beside the deeper ledges, flatfish over sand, and silver baitfish in open water. The South Cove reef runs parallel to shore through shallow cobble and deeper ledges. The slab-and-pipe wreck lies along its outer end. Follow the near-reef bearing first, then explore the ledges and wreck. These are artistic game locations based on the cove description. Select a destination in Session for a swimming bearing, or choose the dive tender to land your catch. Surface and breathe along the way. Naturalist labels, bearings and living-coast details can be turned off.
